rotoscoping

In animation and VFX, rotoscoping is the process of tracing part of an image to create a matte that can be used to extract an object from a scene. Lytro depth screens can reduce or eliminate this time-consuming work on scenes that have been shot with our Light Field camera. Lytro has also written Nuke plugins that use Light Field data to draw splines and automatically propagate those shapes throughout a sequence, further reducing rotoscoping work.
