We’re thrilled to announce the arrival of Annie Hanlon and Steven Swanson who will be leading our new Content Partnerships team. Annie and Steven’s experience make them the perfect partners to help us continue to explore the next generation of immersive storytelling with Lytro Immerge. More about Annie and Steven below.
A pioneer in the new medium of virtual reality, Hanlon comes to Lytro from Here Be Dragons where she was an Executive Producer. Her slate there included a VR science series The Possible, with partners Within and GE; a Sundance 2017 and SXSW 2017 selected film in partnership with the Facebook/Oculus VR for Good initiative, as well as VR documentary The Protectors, with Kathryn Bigelow and partner National Geographic, which premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
Hanlon began her career working in commercial production going on to travel the world working on feature films with Oscar-winning actor James Caan before opening her own LA-based commercial production companies, Trio Films and Chromatic Films where she worked on multi-million dollar commercial campaigns as well as developed original docu-reality content for Showtime and Ovation TV.
She previously served as Executive Producer at global production company Great Guns USA, as well as award-winning commercial production company Gartner, where she simultaneously ran their digital sister companies, The Viral Factory US and Whitecanvas.
Currently Hanlon is also the instructor for the popular Professional Production Methods class at Boston University’s Los Angeles Study Abroad Program.
Steven Swanson comes to Lytro from a career in visual effects spanning 15 years and over 100 feature films and commercials for some of the world’s biggest movie franchises and brands.
After graduating from USC’s School of Cinema-Television, Steven’s affinity for technology led him into web development, interface design and digital media which evolved into learning the tools of the visual effects trade.
In 2004 Swanson landed at Luma Pictures after freelancing as a VFX artist, quickly becoming a producer and partner overseeing production. Through his leadership and contributions to infrastructure and operations Luma grew from a team of 20 to 200+ becoming one of the largest privately owned VFX studios in the world with offices in Santa Monica and Melbourne, Australia.
Please join us in welcoming Annie and Steven!
